WASP Technologies is a privately held Irish company, founded in 1999, with offices in both Cork and Dublin. Our key strength comes from our focus - we do not develop websites, we do not develop backend systems - we solely develop handheld applications that integrate with existing enterprise databases.
We understand that in order to fully benefit from mobile devices, mobile users must have access to live enterprise information. We add value to our clients existing information systems by providing their mobile staff with intuitive access to the elements of these systems that they require. We focus on building simplified handheld interfaces that hold only the functionality that is required by the user.
In co-operation with our clients, we achieve our mutual goals by taking a tried and tested approach to the development of their requirements. We take responsibility for each step in the process, from design through to execution, ensuring that the end product matches expectations. |

Managing Director - Donal Moran
Donal graduated with an honours degree in Computer Science from University College Cork in 1990 and has held a number of senior software development roles since. Prior to co-founding WASP in 1999, Donal was the Software Manager for the Infosolv Group, responsible for the design and development of business management applications for the telecommunications sector. During his time with Infosolv, Donal was responsible for the delivery of business software projects in California, Singapore, India and Sweden for such clients as Dell Computers, Sony Manufacturing, Coal India, GTS and Henkel Pharmaceuticals.
Sales Director - Richard Baird
Richard is a graduate of Bolton Street College of Technology and has over 20 years sales experience in a variety of industries. Prior to co-founding WASP Technologies in 1999, Richard held the position of Sales Director with Person-to-Person (subsidiary of Vodafone), with specific focus on mobile data and the corporate sector. During his time with Person-to-Person, Richard was involved in many network data solution projects and brings to WASP Technologies a wealth of contacts in the wireless data industry.
Technical Director - Fergal Moran
Following obtaining his honours degree in Computer Science from Napier University of Edinburgh, Fergal held a number of project management positions with MDB (Marketing Databasics, Edinburgh) who are a database marketing company specialising in tailored marketing solutions, data warehousing and customer analysis & profiling for blue chip clients in such diverse sectors such as Finance, Utilities, Charities, Travel & Tourism. Fergal has installed and maintained customer databases and data warehouses containing between 1 million and 10 million records. Prior to joining WASP, Fergal worked with Kodak where he was responsible for the development of a Disk Management System. |
